Afro Fishing has secured the site adjacent to the cannery operation in Mossel Bay harbour and intends expanding the business to include a fish meal and oil operation, freezing facility, cold store and additional warehousing. The fishing fleet will also need to be expanded to cater for the increased operations. The project will be phases in over 3 years.

In line with our environmental policy, the project commits to applying ‘best practises’ and technologies. We are therefore installing a Regenerative Thermal Oxidation (RTO) unit to incinerate odours. This will be a first in South Africa and will make this factory comparable to similar EU and other first world country processing facilities.
